Organization of American States (OAS)

The 2006 Report on the Situation of Human Rights Defenders in the Americas identifies patterns of violations of human rights defenders in the Americas and highlights the specific risks faced by some groups of defenders. In addition, the report provides an overview of the legal framework for human rights defenders in the Inter-American system. A follow up to this report is currently being prepared.
