Our internships and fellowships provide hands-on experience working for an international non-governmental organisation as well as the opportunity to contribute to our work supporting human rights defenders, strengthening human rights systems, building and leading human rights coalitions, and responding to significant and systemic human rights concerns.

Wipada Baccam joins ISHR’s Communications team for a 6-month mission. With a Master’s from IHEID, she has enriched human rights advocacy at organisations like FORUM-ASIA and ILGA. Previously, Wipada spearheaded campaigns, designed visual content, and represented NGOs at UNHRC sessions. Wipada is passionate about amplifying human rights defenders’ voices.

Angela is an activist and sociologist keen on digital justice, seed sovereignty and labour justice. She has been involved with social movement organising and digital organising during the pandemic. She has been recently involved in working on the intersecting issues of technology and labour in Kenya for both cloud and on location workers.

Previous to ISHR, he achieved 10 years of professional experience of customer services. Passionate by human relationships and cultures, he is particularly keen to support diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Alaitasune joined ISHR in 2023. She supports ISHR efforts at the United Nations Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural Committee and conducts research for ISHR publications. Before joining ISHR, Alaitasune worked on immigrants’ legal rights and equitable food access efforts. She is finishing her degree in Diplomacy & World Affairs.

Socorro is a community human rights activist, and Master of Human Rights Graduate from the University of Minnesota (2023). Her disciplinary focus of study is carcerality, race, and justice. Socorro began her fellowship with Research In Action(RIA) as an Ida B. Wells Fellow and Assistant Project Manager in 2023. Socorro’s life philosophy is “Nothing about them, without them”.

Work with us

Our human rights internships mix exciting projects! As an intern, your talent will be recognised and you will fully participate in the life of our NGO. Since 2021, ISHR is committed to offering paid internships and fellowships only. Our interns and fellows receive some stipend from a third party or directly from ISHR. Working with us is a great opportunity for a first human rights internship or a human rights summer internship.
