West African Human Rights Defenders Network Training
June, 2011 - Sierra Leone
This 'training-of-trainers' course is currently in progress. It is aimed at giving local human rights defenders, some of whom have already taken part in training courses organised by the ISHR, the means to train other defenders. The participants are mainly from Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea-Conakry, Côte d'Ivoire and Togo.
Great Lakes Regional Activists Training
July, 2011 - Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
This course is aimed at participants from Burundi, the DRC and Rwanda. The main focus is follow-up on the work undertaken with human rights defenders from these regions, regarding the implementation of the recommendations made at the UPR.
