The 47^th session of the Committee against Torture took place from 31 October to 25 November 2011 in Geneva.

The Committee against Torture (CAT), established in 1987, monitors the implementation of the International Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment. CAT is composed of ten independent experts who meet twice a year for three weeks at a time.
