64th session of General Assembly opens in New York |

The high-level debate that opens the 64th session of the General Assembly is underway in New York and daily media reports from the UN summarising proceedings are available.
Key documents relating to the Third Committee's organisation of work, calendar of meetings and schedule for its dialogues with special procedures are also available.
ISHR will be publishing a 'New York Alert' to outline the
expected highlights of the 64th session of the General Assembly and its
Third Committee, which deals with human rights issues and is in session
from October through November 2009. We will also periodically publish
'news stories' as the 64th session unfolds, and produce an analytical
report on the key human rights developments and outcomes at the
conclusion of the session.
